The Mother's Welcome

The Mother Goddess is always ready to welcome you with open arms, completely accepting, completely loving. This rosary necklace shows a joyous Demeter at the moment when her beloved daughter Persephone is returned to her from the underworld (accompanied by Mercury). The art on both sides is by Frederic Leighton (you can see the entire painting here). The beads are iridescent Czech glass in pale peach and blue with silvery accents. Amulet pendant is made from an early 20th-century optician's lens, with vintage text on the reverse.
