The Lady of Shalott
Down she came and found a boat
Tennyson's haunting poem "The Lady of Shalott" tells of a curse that kept the Lady from looking at life directly. Only through her crystal mirror could she safely view the world around her. The romance and tragedy of her fate has many modern metaphors... which I will leave to you to discover! Take the Lady forth into the real world with you in this rosary necklace in soft tapestry-colored Czech glass and Swarovski crystal. The amulet is a vintage optician's lens, with hand-painted art paper and antique text on the reverse (the text is not from the poem, but seemed to suit the theme). |
