The Lady of Shalott

The romance of Tennyson's poetic heroine, the Lady of Shalott, is captured in this beautiful portrait by John William Waterhouse. I chose the text for the reverse (not from the poem) because I see the Lady as embodying the spirit's need to break out of confining solitude and touch the real world, with all its joys and sorrows. This rosary necklace is made with soft tapestry-colored Czech glass beads. The amulet is a vintage optician's lens with antique text on the reverse.
